The motherboard is like the nervous system of the computer and critical part of any computer.  The motherboard passes information between all the components of your computer.  Not  all motherboards are created equal some are fast, others are stable, and some are prone to failure.

Intel Motherboards

Generally Intel motherboards are very consistent.  Not the fastest motherboards out there but usually very, very stable.  In general I use Intel boards on servers, and business machines where maximum stability is key to keeping operations going.  On graphic Design, or gaming I usually choose a faster motherboard, and for basic machines I usually choose a less expensive motherboard.

ECS Motherboards

Generally ECS make inexpensive motherboards some models are fairly bad, others fairly good.  We mostly put these in value based system where price is the number one issue.
