I seem to be hitting some problems lately with DotNetNuke.  The latest is with the forum.  I was making a post and my cookie expired before I hit post.  The resulting post caused an error which rendered most of that forum unreachable.  So if you notice all the posts under software are all on one date that is because I had to delete the whole section and repost.  What a pain.  DNN is really a powerful tool but a couple of weaknesses are starting to rear their ugly heads.  The only way I was able to retrieve and restore those parts without restoring a backup was to search for the posts in the section using the standard site search function and going directly to the page bypassing the forum menus.  I just copied the text to the clipboard and deleted the whole  "Software" forum.  I'm sure if you knew all the commands to query the database you could aviod this but considering this is supposed to be easy that seems excessive.  Why can't you just delete a post via the forum administrative panel?  That seems a bit silly to say the least..  Anyway the forum module is a bit weak and definitly has some problems, as does the repository module.  I would use an alternative like PHPBBS but the whole point for me in using DNN is the fact that its integrated, easy, and self contained.  No need to manage 10 databases and run 20 different programs.

It seem that the "Compress Applications" setting in IIS has cause quite a few problems for us here.  Turning it off seems to have fixed all the others and probably this one too.  If I see it happen again now that we have changed setting I will let you all know but consider it fixed otherwise
